Chapter 24
Safety Rules
âDid he tell you where youâre going?â
Amelia stuck her head out of her closet to find Kelsey running her fingers along her bookshelves, perusing through the titles. She noticed her reach for the worn leather binding.
âDonât touch that one.â
Kelsey jumped at the sound of her voice, jerking her hand back as if sheâd been bitten.
âIt was my momâs; itâs extremely fragile. You can touch anything else, just not that one,â Amelia smiled before ducking back inside the closet. âAnd no, he didnât tell me where weâre going. He just said, âdress casual.ââ
âWhat does that even mean? Casual could imply a million things,â Kelsey complained, her voice exceptionally high.
Amelia chuckled. The girl wasnât wrong.
Kelsey had already curled her hair into long, loose beach waves that gave her hair some great body. She hadnât gotten dressed up in weeks and felt like a new woman.
Kelsey clapped her hands excitedly as Amelia exited the bathroom, complete and ready to go.
âDamn, girl, you clean up well,â Kelsey smiled, pointing at her up and down.
Kelsey wasnât wrong. After training, she looked like she had taken a mud bath, caked in dirt, with leaves and twigs sticking to her body. Training was intense, but extremely productive as each of the warriors took the new training seriously.
âThanks,â Amelia said, bouncing back on her heels. âYou think heâll like it?â
âI donât think heâll be able to keep his hands off you.â
Rey licked her lips in anticipation. Amelia bit down to keep from smiling; her face already beet red. That was the plan. Being edged earlier had made the heat between her legs nearly unbearable. She tried to lessen the sting in the shower but was incapable. Her body demanded him and only him.
âHopefully itâs not too casual,â Amelia said. She took notice of Kelseyâs blank stare. âWhat is it?â
âAlpha is waiting for you downstairs!â Kelsey squealed, nearly jumping up and down.
Amelia pursed her lips, tugging on the bottom of her top, fidgeting with the fabric of her tight-fitting corset. She suddenly felt extremely nervous. Every part of her wanted this date to go well. It wasnât just about the sex. A part of her wanted more of him than just his body. She wanted to understand the man.
Kelsey took notice of her friendâs composure, instantly forcing herself to settle down. âAre you okay? You seem nervous.â
âWhat if we have nothing in common?â
âThe Moon Goddess would not have given you Gabriel as a fated mate if you two had nothing in common. Thereâs a reason you two are bonded together, trust in that,â Kelsey smiled, playing with the ends of one of Ameliaâs curls that lay over the black fabric.
âThanks, Kels.â
âAnytime, now get out of here.â
Amelia took in a deep breath before leaving the safety of her bedroom. She rushed down the first few flights of stairs, but forced herself to slow down the last treads, taking each step with as much control and concentration she could muster.
Finally reaching the main floor, she spotted Gabriel waiting near the front door with his back to her.
